Billy Oswald Edmondson, age 64, of Goldonna, La., passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2008. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2008, with Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery in Goldonna, La. Mr. Billy was born on August 28, 1943 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He and his family moved around to several small towns before settling in Jonesboro, La. He met his wife, LaDean, in Clarence in 1965. Mr. Billy was an outdoors man. He loved to fish and hunt. His last fishing tournament was the fifth Trista Tyler tournament at Midway Marina, although he was not able to finish the tournament. He was a very hard worker, he was a family man, and he was a very giving and caring person. He was a man of few words, but he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He was a member of Grand Ecore Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Edmondson and Ruby (Foster) Edmondson. He is survived by his wife LaDean Edmondson; one daughter, Teri Edmondson of Dodson, La.; one son, Jr. Brown and wife Linda of Goldonna, La.; two grandchildren, Scotty Andrews and wife Kim of Anchorage, Ak. and Billy Brown and fiancé Leslie of Goldonna, La.; two great-grandchildren, Briana Andrews of Anchorage, Ak. and Dewayne Brown of Goldonna, La.; one sister, Patricia Clark of Deridder, La.; a host of nieces and nephews; and his baby dog, Benji. Pallbearers will be Jr. McCart, George McGee, John Patterson, Darrel Mayfield, David Day, and Billy Giddings. Honorary Pallbearers will be Edgar Cason, Jolly Nash, Rayborn Smith, and Dean Walters.
