A service to honor the life of Ann (Wood) Foster will be 10 am Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis with Bro. Thomas Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Monday, October 7th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Ann Foster passed away peacefully one day before her 84th birthday on October 6, 2013.
Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Orin F. Foster; one son, Craig Wood Foster and his wife Janet of Bay St. Louis, MS; three daughters, Mimi Stoker and husband Chuck of Natchitoches, Dee Dee Perot and husband Clint of Natchitoches and Kathryn Smith and her husband Vic of Springdale, AR; eleven grandchildren, four in the Natchitoches area, four in Mississippi, two in Virginia and one in Springdale, AR; nineteen great grandchildren; her brother Cecil Wood and sister in law Dorothy Foster Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Wood; sisters, Edith Armstrong and Inez Koonce; a sister, Marie Wood and a brother B.T. Wood all formerly of Moss Bluff.
Ann graduated from St. Charles Academy and SOWELA Technical School in Lake Charles. Ann lived most of her life in Natchitoches, where she devoted herself to raising her four children and making a home for her husband and family. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church during her last few years.
Ann was an accomplished seamstress, floral designer, and caterer. She and Orin owned and operated Ann’s Antiques which was her favorite past time, after playing bridge. Ann served her community as a 4-H leader, member of the Garden Club, Cenla Cowbells president and president of the Natchitoches Lioness Club.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Clint (Scooter) Perot, III, Brant Perot, Kristopher Stoker, Kile Foster, Jacques Matt, Bill Connell, Josh Brenaman and Duncan Matheson.
