Univee Vascocu

Funeral services for Univee Marie Vascocu will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Fr. Thomas Paul officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on October 31, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm during the visitation. Univee Vascocu, 85 years of age, passed away October 29, 2013. She was born June 22, 1928 to the late Frank Duraso and Ida Melancon Vascocu in Melrose, LA. She was a lifelong resident of the Flora/Cypress community, where she was raised and finished school. Univee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her family, and cooking. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two children, Glenn Vascocu and wife Jenni of Flora, LA and Shern Anne Vascocu of West Monroe, LA; her daughter-in-law, Bridget Vascocu of Flora, LA; ten grandchildren, Brad Vascocu and wife Dacia of Flora, LA, Heather and Fiancee Keith Gandy of Provencal, LA, Tucker Vascocu of Flora, LA, Chloe Vascocu of Flora, LA, Michael David Rachal of West Monroe, LA, Alicia Anne Langley of Hermitage, PA, James Allen Barnette of Bossier City, LA, Keith Vascocu, II and wife Alicia of Flora, LA, Dusty Vascocu of Flora, LA and DeWayne Vascocu of Flora, LA; and seven great grandchildren, Macy Paige, Peyton Alyse, Tre' Vascocu, Eli Soles, Alexis Soles, Destiny Soles, and Cullen Barnette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ucie Vascocu; her parents, Frank Duraso and Ida Melancon Duraso, and one son, Keith Vascocu, I. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dusty Vascocu, Keith Vascocu,Jr, Brad Vascocu, Jerry Vascocu, Marty Vascocu, and Dwayne Vascocu.
