Carlton Louis Burr, Sr., age 59, of Natchitoches, La., passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at his home after a lengthy illness. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Toby Shaw officiating.
Louis served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. He loved to hunt and fish. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim W. Burr Sr. and Carrie Barber Burr; one sister, Bernice Weeks; three brothers, J.W. Burr Jr., Jimmy Ray Burr, and Thomas E. Burr; and his long time pet, Lacey Marie Burr.
He is survived by his wife Linda Burr; one son, Louis Burr, Jr. and wife Jo Nell; one daughter, Angela Burr; five grandchildren, Scott, Robert, and Alan Maines, and Ryan and Tyler Burr; two step-sons, Stephen Hodge and wife Micah, and J.R. Hodge; one step- granddaughter, McKenzie “Puddin” Hodge; two sisters, Dee Ward and Winnie Armstrong; two brothers, Roy Burr and wife Jan and Raymond Burr and wife Diane; two sister in laws, Mary Burr and Esther Burr; a host of nieces and nephews; and the coffee drinkers, Robert Walker, Abron Waters, and Tim Phillips.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Vargas and staff at Schumpert Hospital, Dr. Keller at Overton Brooke Medical Center, Life Care of Shreveport, Senergy Home Health, and Hospice of Natchitoches.
