Oscar “Billy” Harvey, age 56, of Cloutierville, La., passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2008. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2008, with Rev. David Allen officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Gardner, La at 1:30 PM following the service.
“Billy” was an outdoors man. He loved to deer hunt, turkey hunt, and fish. He was a very helpful man, and would do so even when not called upon. He was a jack of all trades. He always wore a smile. By trade he was a heavy equipment operator for the Levee Board. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Harvey and Nettie West Harvey; and one brother, Melvin Harvey.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Fletcher Harvey; two daughters, Stephanie Morris of Glenmora, La. and Felicia Harvey of Natchitoches, La.; two step-daughters, Sierra Sierra of Finlay, Oh. and Adina Manry of Natchitoches, La.; one step-son, Carl Crawford of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Robinson of Hineston, La., Parilee Vercher of Cloutierville, La., Gladys Garrett of Grayson, La., and Helen Gray of Minden, La.; five brothers, Jack Alton Harvey of Cloutierville, La., Earl K. Harvey of Hineston, La., Johnny Harvey of Boyce, La., Lonzo Harvey of Cloutierville, La., and James Carson Harvey of Boyce, La.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clint Durr, Tommy Manry, Carl Crawford, Paul Tines, Gary Gray, Donald Dykes.
