Maebelle Ebert Salard

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Maebelle Salard will be 10 am Monday, November 11, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA with Father Kenneth Obiekwe serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery near Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 7 pm on Sunday November 10, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9 am until service time at the church. Maebelle, a retired school worker at Cloutierville, loved her family, friends, farming, gardening and cooking. A visit with mamaw always included her amazing gumbo and unforgettable biscuits. The many stories she shared of life in the early 1900's are memories we will cherish forever! One of the many highlights of her life included her 100th birthday party with family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson & Eran Ebert; husband, Paul Salard, Sr.; sisters, Lessie Vercher and Mearl Antley; brother, Henry Ebert ; daughters, Kathryn Salard Morgan and Geneva Faye Salard; and granddaughter, Alison Faye Morgan She is survived by her two sons, Paul Salard, Jr. and wife Daisy and Joseph Wayne Salard and wife Susan; special companion, John L. Salard; sister, Minnie Basco; son-in-law, Al Morgan; grandchildren, Paul Salard, III, Brent Salard, MIchael Salard, Christopher Salard, Bradford Morgan, Cathy Morgan and David Morgan; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Paul Salard III, Brent Salard, Michael Salard, Brad Morgan, David Morgan, Dooley Basco, and Greg Brossette.
