Mary Anna Pharriss Donaho

Funeral services for Mary Ann Donaho will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Dr. Ted Methvin officiating. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on December 4, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Mary Donaho, 93 years of age, passed away December 2, 2013. She was born on July 8, 1920 in Bunkie, LA to James Franklin Pharriss and Willie Tillow Ford Pharriss, but was raised in Paul’s Valley, OK. She later moved to Provencal, LA, before her move to Natchitoches. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She was a 4-H leader at Provencal High for over 20 years as well as writing the Provencal news for the Natchitoches Times for over 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kauffman Donaho, her two brothers, James Franklin Pharriss Jr. and Arthur George Pharriss who were all three World War II Veteran’s . Her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Perot Donaho as well as all her cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also the last survivor of her High School graduating class of 1939 at White Bead High School in Paul’s Valley, OK. She is survived by her one daughter, Charlotte Donaho Witherwax; her four sons, Sonny Cunningham, James Donaho, John Donaho, and George Donaho; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
