A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jan Baker Turk will be 2 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home on the 14th.
Mrs. Turk, 63 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 peacefully at her home. She was born August 19, 1950 in Alexandria, LA but was a native of Tullos, LA for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Clara Baker and a brother, Mike Baker.
She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband, Stanley Turk; son, Ronald Woodruff, Jr.; daughters, Tammie McLelland and her husband Mike and Dusty Woodruff Grimes and Roderick Wilson; sister in law, Diane Baker; nephews, Van and Daniel Baker. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Kayla, Amber, Lauren, Brittney, Calvin, Raychel, Jasey and Ronnie; and a great granddaughter, Kallie.
Jan was a loving and caring woman who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was a dear friend and a mom to many of her “adopted” children. She was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW in Coushatta, LA.
