Funeral services for William Alexander Taylor will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 9, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Doug De Graffenreid officiating. Interment will follow at American Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on December 8, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches, LA.
William Taylor, 50 years of age, passed away December 4, 2013. William was born June 20, 1963 in Cottonport, LA. William was a gentle, kind and loving person. He donated his time working with the American Cemetery Board, serving on the Natchitoches Historic Foundation Board, and was an active member of the Lions Club for many years, as well as a past regional and local treasurer. He was an employee of City Bank and Trust in Natchitoches, LA for 16 years. He loved LSU football, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New Orleans Saints, and was an active supporter of NSU. HE enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. William graduated from St. Mary's High School and Northwester State University, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Memorials may be made in Will's name to the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches, the American Cemetery Association, or to the Natchitoches Historic Foundation.
He is survived by his mother, Georgie Alice "Jokie" Cayer Taylor of Natchitoches, LA; three siblings, Sadie Taylor Delatte and her husband Dr. Roy Delatte of River Ridge, LA, Henry Cook Taylor, Jr. and his wife Debbie Nafe Taylor of Natchitoches, and Alice Taylor Tallis and her husband Dr. Mark Tallis of Baton Rouge, LA; and his nieces and nephews and their families, Emily Ruth Delatte and Cody Williams and daughter Lillian Ruth Parrish, Adam Taylor and wife Taryn and their children Evan and Thomas, Katie Taylor Mix and husband Jeff and their children Andre and Taylor, Kendra Elise Taylor, Shelby Taylor Strahan and husband Josh and their children Alysa and Tyler, Geoffrey Reid Tallis, and Audrey Louise Tallis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Cook Taylor, Sr.
