A graveside service to honor the life of Pete Smith will be 2 pm Friday, December 20, 2013 at St. Maurice Cemetery in St. Maurice, LA with Bro. David Free officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday, December 20th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Millard Pete Smith, 86 years of age and a resident of Clarence, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in Natchitoches. He was born November 13, 1927 to Bill and Gladys (Boswell) Smith in Monticello, AR. He worked for many years as a welder, and later a supervisor, in the dry dock industry close to the New Orleans area. He was a member of Clarence Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 ½ years, Gracie Emley Smith; nieces and nephews, Mary Helen Emley of Clarence, Caddo Smith of Hearne, TX, Faye Young of Hearne, TX, Glenda Session of Coushatta, Karen Huggins of Portage, IN, James Allen Emley of Portage, IN, James Dusty Emley of Clarence, William Gooden, Jr. of Campti, Jamie and Annette Session of Pascagoula, MS, Billy and Connie Session of Campti, April Ward of Campti, Lynn Moore of Coushatta, Jason and Jacqueline Session of Coushatta and Jesse and Renee Session of Mansfield. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Session, Steve Session, William Gooden, Jr., Dusty Emley, Michael Gooden, Jesse Session and Marcus Gooden.
