Doris Marie Morvan

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Doris Marie Morvan will be 1 pm Friday, December 27, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Spanish Lake, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Morvan, 77 years of age, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Natchitoches. She was born June 17, 1936 to Arthur Lee Banes and Rosa Lee (Jordan) Banes in Tullos, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was devoted to her husband, who she was married to for over 50 years before his passing. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, growing flowers, and working in her yard. She spent her life providing for her family. She loved animals, especially "Nacho", her beloved Chihuahua. She was always selfless, cared for others, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl James Morvan; and her siblings, Helen Cedars, Dorothy Crucioli and Wayne Banes. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Earl James Morvan, Jr. and his wife Gail of Winnfield, Eric Lee Morvan and his wife Betty Joe of Natchitoches, Rebecca Lynn Garcie of Natchitoches, Betty Gail Morvan of Hattiesburg, MS, and Donna Marie VanWormer and her husband Kevin of Vicksburg, MS. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
