A service to celebrate the home going of Mrs. Shirley (DuBois) Chelette will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Nantachie United Pentecostal Church in Montgomery, LA with Bro. Nathaniel Young, Bro. Samuel Russell, and Bro. Kenneth Hyde to officiate the service. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm on Monday, December 30th until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Chelette, 61 years of age, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was born November 23, 1952 in Montgomery, LA to Ora and Vera (Broadway) DuBois. She was a graduate of Verda High School. For many years, she was the Grant Parish Registrar of Voters and she also owned The Grant Parish Legal Resource. She was well respected Christian lady and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 43 years, Thomas A. Chelette of Montgomery, son, Jason A. Chelette and his wife Anita Bryant of Hargis; daughter, Sharanda Perrine and her husband Scotty of Montgomery; mother, Vera (Broadway) DuBois of Montgomery; grandchildren, Johnathan Aaron Chelette, Jacob Aaron Chelette, Alysa Perrine, Haley Lionberger and Macey Lionberger; great grandchild, Maddox Parker Chelette; sisters, Brenda Mullen and her husband Dale of Humble, TX, Kelly Waxley and her husband Michael of Montgomery; brothers, Kenneth DuBois and his wife Pat of Montgomery, Willis DuBois and his wife Sybil of Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ora D. DuBois; and a sister, Sandy DuBois.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Dewayne DuBois, Preston Durr, Elray LeMoine, J.C. Thomason, Kevin McCracken, and Jeff Covington.
