Iris Ballard, 87 years of age, passed away January 3, 2014. Iris was born April 6, 1926 to the late John Franklin Russell and Ada Gallien Russell in Natchitoches, LA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Iris was a colorful and strong-willed person. She loved to dance, and in her younger years, was known for being the best dancer on the floor. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was walking, spending time with her cat, or working in her lawn. She was a beautician most of her life, and also served as a "Pink Lady" at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. She could be outspoken at times, was full of life, and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Starlet Warren and husband Johnny of Vidalia, LA and Angela G. Wine of Tomball, TX; three grandchildren, Amanda Forman and husband Andrew of Monterey, LA, Chelsea Harrell and husband Elijah of Monroe, LA, and Stephanie M Poche of Tomball, TX; three great grandchildren, Future Poche, J.R. Forman, and Levi Forman; and two sisters, Ada belle LaCaze of Natchitoches, LA and Jo-an Davis of Natchitoches, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M Ballard; her parents, John Franklin Russell and Ada Gallien Russell; and two sisters, Mazzie Buchanan and Leona Marshall.
