Funeral services for Marlon D Ferrier will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Steven Searcy officiating. Interment will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Montgomery, LA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on January 16, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Marlon Ferrier, 56 years of age, passed away January 14, 2014. Marlon was born March 10, 1957 in Montgomery, La. He was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather. Marlon was a hard working, compassionate, and fun-loving man. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He earned everything he acquired, and believed in an honest days work for an honest days pay. He loved to travel, whether working or recreational, making his way to 46 states. He would bring his dog "Wrecking-ball" with him everywhere he went. Marlon loved old cars and trucks, and belonged to the Natchitoches Truck Club. He got the most out of life, enjoying every minute he could. Marlon was a motorcycle rider down to his core, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Searcy Ferrier of Campti, LA; his children, Brian Ferrier of Campti, LA, Cody Hiers of Meridian, MS, Jerry Ferrier of Campti, LA, and Melody Ferrier and husband, James Owens of Campti, LA; grandchildren, Nathaniel Owens, Taylor Ferrier, and James Owens; his mother, Vernell Hoob Ferrier of Natchitoches, LA; two sisters, Brandi Ferrier Warren and husband, Daniel of Provencal, LA and Dalene Ferrier Huckaby of Provencal; nieces, Brooke Kennedy, Lindsey Rachal, Heather, and Amy; nephew, Jason Rachal, Reece Michael and Chad Price; and one brother in law, Steve Searcy and wife Breylen of Hurley, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Bryan Ferrier; one brother, Timothy Ferrier; and one sister, Jerri Himes. Pallbearers will be Mike Martin, David Patterson, Dewitt Nugent, Hilton Theriot, James Hert, Stanley Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathaniel Owens, Taylor Ferrier, James Owens, and Cody Hiers.
