Funeral services for Helen Withers will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Marthaville, LA with Rev. Ernest Little officiating. Interment will follow at Lambertown Cemetery in Robeline, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Marthaville, LA. Helen Withers, 86 years of age, passed away January 19, 2014. Helen was born July 14, 1927 in Clarence, LA and resided in Marthaville, LA. She retired after many faithful years of work from Many Nursing Home. Survivors include one brother, Larry Pardee of Ohatchee, Alabama; one daughter, Eunice Taylor and her husband, Billy of Haughton, LA; six sons, Herbert Withers and wife Cynthia of Marthaville, LA, John Withers and wife Gloria of Stonewall, LA, Wesley Withers of Blanchard, LA, Donald Withers and wife Sharon of Stonewall, LA, Bill Withers and wife Annette of Pleasant Hill, LA, and Justin Withers and wife Toni of Sturgis, MS; one daughter-in-law, Yon "Candy" Withers of Shreveport, LA; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Withers; her parents, William Pardee and Aulga Mae Smart Pardee; one son, Harvey Gene Withers; and one daughter-in-law, Myra Withers. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be John Withers, Jr., Wesley Withers, Jr., Michael Taylor, Baron Withers, Brennen Withers, Jeffrey Chambers, and Justin Withers. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Withers, Brandon Jones, David Truitt, Hunter Withers, and Daniel Woodel. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the entire staff of The Glen Retirement Home in Shreveport and to Harmony Hospice, for all of their loving care and support for Mrs. Helen.
