Opal was born October 19, 1919 and she received her education from Boyce High School. Opal married William Edward Moore August 17, 1937 and to this union 5 children were born. Opal was a homemaker and she worked in the Marthaville Post Office, was a school bus driver and substitute school teacher. After her retirement she became a Pink Lady with the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. She moved to Shreveport in 2005 and resided there until she departed this earth January 30, 2014.
Visitation will be 11:00 am – 12:45 pm Sunday, February 2 with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Blanchard St Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches. Interment is at Central Cemetery in Robeline.
Opal was predeceased by her parents James Elmer and Famie Law Cassady, husband W. E. Moore, her sisters, Hazel Guest, Elouise Fuller, Bessie Mae Parker, Jacqueline Miller and her brother J. E. Cassady and son in law Joe Rains. She is survived by her brother James Marvin Cassady and wife Helen, her children Beth Rains, Sharon McCaskill, David Moore and wife Ann, Kathy Mawhinney and husband Michael, Keith Moore and wife Theresa. Grandchildren and spouses Darryl and Tricia Rains, Stacy and Wally Byrd, Susan and Dustin Perkins, Karen and Mike Ware, Melonee McCaskill, Mac Moore, Christa and Alex Murray, 14 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special extended family Jan and Ted Singletary.
