Margaret Owen Guillory

Memorial services for Margaret O. Guillory will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Fr. Jason Gootee officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Trichell Community, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm on March 10, 2014 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Margaret Guillory, 67 years of age, and a resident of Clarence, LA, passed away March 6, 2014. Margaret was born May 5, 1946 to the late Clifton Owen and Margaret Robson Owen in Natchitoches, LA. She was a loving wife, a devoted Christian, and was generous, caring, and compassionate. She was a great cook, and she loved to provide and spend time with her family. Margaret was a high school educator, teaching English and Gifted Studies for almost 30 years. She taught at Goldonna, Natchitoches Central, Lakeview, and Coushatta. She received a Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She was a member of the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches and Kappa Kappa Iota Soroiety. She affected many lives through her teaching, she was loved by her family, and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her step-daughter, Connie Thompson; her sister, Susan Owen Smith of Natchitoches, LA; her brother, Fred Owen and his wife Holly of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Cecil Darwin Guillory; her parents, Clifton Owen and Margaret Robson Owen; and one brother, Clifton Owen.
