Funeral services for Helen Marie “Ma” Arterberry will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Ernest Rains and Ronny Arterberry officiating. Interment will follow at Marthaville Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on March 12, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Helen “Ma” Arterberry, 75 years of age, passed away March 10, 2014. Helen was born December 31, 1938 in Lafayette, LA. She loved to fish, spend time outdoors, and play cards or yahtzee. She was a devoted wife, great cook, and a good mother. She was a straight-spoken, strongwilled lady who left her mark on her family and friends. She was a Christian, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Newton Arterberry of Marthaville, LA; her children, Loretta white and husband Kenny of Madille, OK, Rickey Arterberry and wife Nell of Marthaville, LA, Ronny Arterberry and wife Becky of Marthaville, LA, and Brenda Rayborn and husband David of Jackson, MS; her grandchildren, Shannon Talkington and husband Wesley, Jeremy White and wife Lindsey, Kenna White, Meagan Bynog, Rickey "Monk" Arterberry and wife Debra Mitchell, Adam Graves, Shelly Mitchell, Jerry Allen, and Crystal Allen; her sisters, Katherine Jane Fuselier, Janette Fuselier, and Theresa Fuselier Baronet; her brothers, Donald Fuselier and Wallace "Uncle Boy" Fuselier; fifteen great grandchildren; special family friends, Ray and Marsha Killen, her special Chihuahua, "Pappy"; and a "truck-load" of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Freeman and Hattie Moreaux Freeman; her son, Jerry Arterberry; two grandchildren, Madison White and Bobby Arterberry; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Willam and Ora Arterberry; and her siblings, Yfus Langley, Lil Clifford Langley, Ruth Langley Sanders, and Ellen Langley Edigo. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Donald Fuselier, Wallace "Uncle Boy" Fuselier, Kenny White, Jeremy White, Ricky "Monk" Arterberry, and Wesley Talkington. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Mangum, Terry Arterberry, Larry Arterberry and Raymond Beam.
