Donald Wayne Moran Sr.

Funeral service for Mr. Donald Wayne Moran Sr. will be 10 am Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Frank Ciresi officiating.  Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, April 22nd at Blanchard St. Denis.  Donald Wayne Moran Sr. went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his residence in Ponchatoula, LA after a very long illness.  Don grew up in Flora, LA and later relocated to Baton Rouge and Ponchatoula, LA.  He loved to hunt and fish and all those who came in contact with him loved him for his jolly personality. He is survived by his wife Sue Davis-Moran of Ponchatoula, LA;  son , Donald W. Moran Jr. and wife Brenda of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Kristi Moran Ciresi and husband Frank of Jacksonville, FL, Kim Moran Eason and husband Douglas of Jacksonville, FL, Megan Layne Moran of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Lindsey, Trey, and Timothy Ciresi, Corey and Caleb Eason, Landon McDorman and Brooklyn Sheets; sisters, Yvonne Moran Alost and husband Bobby of Natchitoches, LA, Betty Moran Richardson and husband Dan of Daphne, AL; brother, John Moran of Lafayette, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father Thomas Moran, Sr., mother Olivia Denton, and sister Renee Dowden. The family would like to thank Tulane Medical Center New Orleans, North Oaks Medical Center Hammond, Interim Health Care Hospice Covington, Acadian Ambulance Service and the Ponchatoula Fire Department for their assistance during the last two years.  We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for the thoughts and prayers that were rendered to us during the illness of our love one.
