Harold R. Singletary

A graveside service for Mr. Harold R. Singletary will be 3 pm Monday, May 19, 2014 at Pisgah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA with Bro. Dean Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mr. Singletary, 80 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He was born November 17, 1933 to George Albert Singletary and Ruth Naomi (Moore) Singletary in Marthaville, LA. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Harold was a friend to many and never met a stranger. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Hazel Hicks and her husband Leon; sister-in-law, Rachel Singletary; nieces, Becky Craig and Lee Anne Norman; nephew and best friend, Kelly Gray and nephew, Jay Hicks; great nieces, Samantha Craig, Colby Craig and Alania Norman; and great nephew, Hayden Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray and Robert Singletary; as well as a nephew Kenny Singletary. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ted Singletary, Benny Lloyd Dove, Kelly Gray, Elmer Berry, Mac Ryals and Albert Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck White, Curtis Strahan, Johnny Antoon, Leonard Thomasee and George Mallett.
