Bobbie Yvonne Charbonnet Peltier, 74, passed away August 04, 2008 at her home in Natchitoches, LA.
Arrangements will be under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008. A wake service will be held at 7:00 PM during the visitation. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches at 11:00AM Thursday, August 7, 2008 with Rev. James Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
Bobbie was born on June 29, 1934 in Ponchatoula, LA. She has been a resident of Natchitoches since 1954. She was office manager for Wheat Eye Clinic and Center for Sight until her retirement in January, 2008. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Court Regina Pacis #1372 in Natchitoches. She was a recipient of the “Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice” gold medal bestowed upon her by Pope John Paul II and the Bishop’s Medal bestowed upon her by the late Bishop, Lawrence P. Graves, of the Diocese of Alexandria/Shreveport. She considered herself blessed to be the wife of a Deacon in the Catholic Church, to be a mother of seven wonderful children, and to live to see her great grandchildren.
She was a wonderful and gracious person to her husband, family, and everyone that she met. Her life was full of love for her family, and above all for her God and Maker. After many years of suffering and never complaining, she is finally at rest in the arms of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Charbonnet and Elsie Colkmire Charbonnet, and one brother, Gene Charbonnet, all of Ponchatoula, LA.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Deacon Joseph C. Peltier, Sr.; one son, Joseph C. Peltier, Jr. of Natchitoches; six daughters, Cathy Jacobs and husband Rodney of Natchitoches, Cindy Townsend and husband William of Shreveport, Susie Thompson and husband Keith of Natchitoches, Judy Hinds and husband Michael of Natchitoches, Mary Soileau and husband Gregory of Houston, TX, and Teresa Lalonde and husband Ted of Baton Rouge, LA; 10 grandchildren, Jamie Jacob Lacaze, Amy Peltier, Lisa Townsend, Nancy Townsend Pipkin, Christi Thompson Fuller, Brandi Thompson, Gregory Thompson, Paul Soileau, Hollie Lalonde, and David Lalonde; and seven great grandchildren, Austin Barbo, Trevor Barbo, Cole Young, Mallorie Davis, Macie Davis, Dillon Thompson, and Sydney Fuller.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Jacobs, William Townsend, Keith Thompson, Michael Hinds, Ted Lalonde, and Gregory Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory Soileau, Paul Soileau, David Lalonde, Walt Pipkin, and Shawn Lacaze.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Hospice of Natchitoches, 340 2nd St., Natchitoches, LA 71457; the American Lung Association; the Joe Peltier Scholarship Fund, 1700 Williams Ave., Natchitoches, LA; or a charity of your choice.
