A service to celebrate the life of Daniel Laroux will be at 2 pm Monday, May 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Robeline, LA with Bro. Brian Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Robeline. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, May 25th at First Baptist Church of Robeline. Daniel, age 31, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 23, 1982 in Natchitoches, LA. He held Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History from Northwestern State University. Daniel was a true Christian man and his love for his Lord was evident by the care and compassion he showed his family and friends. A very loving husband, father, son and brother, he will be dearly missed by his family but they take comfort in the assuredness of being re-united one day with him in heaven. God first, then family and thirdly was his love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kimberly Laroux; sons, William Floyd Laroux and Joseph Ray Laroux; mother, Diana Floyd Laroux; sister, Angela Laroux; brothers, Stephen Laroux and Todd Laroux; grandmother, Barbara Floyd; great aunt, Johnnie Marie Johnson; father and mother in law, Ray and Debbie Rushing; sister in law, Beth Rushing; brothers in law, Kenny and Shawn Rushing; aunts and uncles, Patty Floyd, Frances and James Walker, Nathan Allbritton; cousins, Adam Greer, Amanda Brady, Maggie Durr, Jim Walker, and Adriana Walker, Shaye Walker and Raliegh Walker; his best friend, Andy Jacob as well as extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Floyd; aunt, Phyllis Allbritton; uncle, Randy Floyd and cousin, Justin Allbritton. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Adam Greer, Raleigh Walker, Jim Walker, Kenny Rushing, Andy Jacob, Sean Brady, Willie Hey and Rodney Eiland. The family wishes to thank Dr. Manish Dhawan, the nurses, and staff at the Northwest Louisiana Cancer Center for the care and compassion given to Daniel during his treatment.
