Waymon Bates Thompson

Funeral services for Waymon Thompson will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Christian Harmony Baptist Church in Trichell Community, LA with Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Rev. David Matlock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery in St. Maurice, LA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on May 26, 2014 at Christian Harmony Baptist Church. Waymon Thompson, 85 years of age, passed away May 23, 2014. He was born October 3, 1928 in Natchitoches, LA. He was a lifetime resident of Louisiana, a loving husband to Alice, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He served his country by enlisting in the Army Air Corps and was an inspector/owner of Thompson Inspection and Testing, Inc. He loved to fish, garden, and play golf. Waymon was a hard-working man, had a strong will, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He was survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Lonadier Thompson; his children, Linda Thompson Barham and husband Richard and David Thompson and wife Tammy; his grandchildren, Eric, Jessica, Rachael, Travis, Dereck, Michael, Jeremy, and Ashley; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kirby, Joelle, Little Eric, Evan, Joey, Jade, Cameron, Landon, Carson, Ansley, Aida, and Samuel; one great-great grandchild, Averi; one sister, Helen Waters; and one brother, Billy Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Pace Thompson and Thomas Thompson; his son; Rickey Thompson; his daughter, Yvonne Thompson; his great granddaughter, Kennedy; five brothers, and four sisters.
