James "Jamie" Leon Severance, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James Leon Severance, Sr. will be at 11 am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Spanish Lake, LA with Rev. Antony Aelavanthara serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm – 9 pm on Friday, June 6th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel. Jamie, age 51, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He was born June 9, 1962 in Shreveport to Charles Severance and Nell Davis. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, David Barbo. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Melissa Holley, Clarissa Kulhavy, James Leon Severance, Jr. and Jonathan Severance; mother, Nell Davis; siblings, Sonya Campbell, Charles Severance, Timothy Severance, Jill Strickland, Raymond Barbo, John Barbo and Tina Kazen; and a special friend, Deana Ezell. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Kori Holley, Kaden Holley, Kalynn Meshell, Haley Meshell, Ethan Jones Kulhavy, James Severance, III, Jacob James Severance, Juliana Singer, Jayelynne Severance, Jace Severance and Courtney Ezell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: James Severance, Jr., Jonathan Severance, Chuck Severance, Tim Severance, Ray Barbo, John Barbo, Johnny Singer and Charles Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Davis, Jay Kazen and Nathan Barbo.
