Memorial service for Lanny Garland Crow will be held 2 PM Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Stanley Clemons officiating. Burial will be in Fern Park Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2008 from 5 PM until 8 PM in the funeral home.
Mr. Crow, 85, of Natchitoches, La., died Sunday, August 17, 2008, in Northwest Louisiana War Hero Home at Bossier City, La.
He was a native of Minden, La. He was retired owner and president of Crow's Bureau Insurance, Inc and had worked for Farm Bureau for 29 years with a total of 34 years in the insurance business in Natchitoches, La. He was a veteran of World War II serving in U. S. Army and received a purple heart, silver star and distinguished service cross, and among others. He was the highest decorated war veteran in Louisiana. He was a member of Freedom Life Church and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Faye Graves Crow; parents, Charlie Alma Crow and Lena Garland Crow; sister, Lucille Plunckett; two brothers, Frank Crow and Leon Crow.
He is survived by three daughters, Aloys Duty and husband Jack, Gina Dykes and husband Vaughn, and Lanis Sargee all of Natchitoches, La.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth McElwee, Ashleigh Sargee, Jesse Guilliams, Jason Duty, and Richard Sargee; one sister, Louise Dillon of Homer, La.; and two special nephews, Jimmy Crow of Ontario, Ca. and Bobby Crow of Carthage, Tx.
Mr. Crow's family would like to extend a special thanks for the care given to their father during his time at Northwest Louisiana War Hero's Home.
