William Thomas Morrow, Sr.

William Thomas Morrow, 81 of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away after a lengthy illness and courageous battle on June 27, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family. A “Celebration of Life” in his honor will be held at The Natchitoches Country Club on July 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The family encourages friends to come and celebrate his life and share stories of a wonderful man who was loved and admired by so many. A private interment for family will be held at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tommy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 8, 1932. He graduated from C.E. Byrd High School where he was a star athlete. He earned a BS degree in Finance and Insurance from LSU in 1955. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Air Force. Tommy was a golf prodigy from an early age and ultimately won over 100 titles over the years. He is the only person to ever win the State High School, State Junior, and State Jaycee Golf Titles, all for 3 consecutive years. He won the Louisiana State Amateur in 1963 and was 3 time champion of the Louisiana Open. He turned professional in 1963 and played on the PGA Tour for 2 seasons before becoming the Head Golf Professional at The Natchitoches Country Club where he worked until retirement. He was a mentor to numerous young people during his career and always instilled life lessons, respect and integrity with his pupils. He was preceded in death by his parents E.F. Morrow, Jr., and Mona Cobb Morrow and his brother, E.F. Morrow III. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Perry Morrow, and his children, Bill (wife Shelley), Bob (wife Emily), and daughter Beth (husband Tom Edens), 10 cherished grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Natchitoches at 340 Second Street, Natchitoches, Louisiana 71457 or the charity of your choice. The family expresses deep gratitude to Dr. James Knecht and staff, numerous Home Health nurses and caregivers, and most recently two special ladies Ann and Tracy for their loving care and compassion.
