Mary Mable Troquille Cheramie, age 83, of Cloutierville, La, and a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, La., passed away Monday, September 1, 2008, at Natchitoches Regional Long Term Care in Natchitoches, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, La., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2008. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM during the visitation. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2008. Interment will be at Gorum Cemetery in Gorum, La.
Mrs. Mary was a kind, fun loving person. She enjoyed to fishing, took a lot of pride in raising beautiful roses, and treasure hunting at garage sales. She loved her children and was very proud of them. She always had a welcoming home, had good food to eat, and loved her friends and family. She received great joy from giving gifts such as, homemade preserves, quilts, and crocheted afghans that were made by her hands with love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Colvin Troquille and Saraphine Basco Troquille; one son, Merrick Kerry; one grandchild, Brandy Sonnier ; one brother, John E. Troquille; and two sisters, Winnie DeLacerda and Doretha Linn.
She is survived by her husband Paul Cheramie; one daughter, Mary Francis Humble of Iowa, La; two sons, Bill Kerry of Lake Charles, La. and James McGurk of Charenton, La.; one sister, Sarah Jean Brossette of Carliss, La.; ten grandchildren, Susan Kerry Thibodeaux, Sandra Kerry Swope, Sharon Kerry Dohmann, Billy Kerry, Jr., Tina Kerry, Charles Kerry, Donna Rollins, Candice McGurk, Amanda McGurk, and Kimberly Sonnier; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
