Funeral service for Mr. Thad Longlois will be at 10 am Friday, August 22, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches with Rev. Doug deGraffenreid officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, August 21st at the Crossroads Sanctuary located within the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches.
Mr. Longlois passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 as a result of tragic plane crash. He was born November 10, 1931 to Philmore and Nora Clark Longlois in Natchitoches. He grew up in Flora and was a 1948 graduate, the last graduating class to attend 11 years. He then attended Shreveport Trade School, acquiring his barber license in 1950 and began working alongside his father, a long-time barber in Natchitoches. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 – 1954. During his lifetime, he enjoyed bowling, was active in Flora Rodeo, and an avid squaredancer with his wife. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. In 2005, he earned his pilot certificate after studying for many hours.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy LeRoy Longlois; two sons, Marc and his spouse Kevin Morrissey of Moreno Valley, CA and Victor Longlois and his wife Toye of Shreveport. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Dylan Longlois of Austin, TX, Kasey Longlois and Ashley Longlois both of Shreveport; and a great grandson, Jaxson Christie of Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Kevin Longlois, who passed away in 1990 at the age of 28.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Bobby Nowlin, Roger Fedieu, Ross Desadier, Stephen Nix, Billy Joe Harrington, Mickey Dove, and Mark Swafford.
