Neva Elise Smith Davis

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Neva Elise Smith Davis will be at 11 am Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Josh Currie officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 11 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Neva Elise Smith Davis passed peacefully into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saline, Louisiana, October 6, 1936, and married the love of her life, William E. Davis on October 9, 1954. Elise was much loved and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, devoted family, and cherished friends. Everyone loved her sense of humor, talent for cooking, and her infectious laughter. Most importantly she always made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed in her home. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, “Bill’; her son Randy and wife Cammie of Baton Rouge, her daughter, Susan Howell and husband Gary of Natchitoches; and son, Jimmy and wife Beverly of San Antonio, TX; her six grandchildren, William, Lindsey, and Cody Davis, Brett Mayeaux and wife Rachel, Amber Howell, Alicia Angelle and husband Caleb. She is also survived by her four great grandchildren, Kate, Anna and Ryan Mayeaux, and Jaxon Angelle. Also left to cherish her memory are lifetime friends, Pierce and Dot Nicholson and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.A. Smith and Ruby Kelly Smith and one son-in-law, Troy Mayeaux.
