Jewell Lillian LaCaze Jones

Funeral services for Jewell Lillian LaCaze Jones will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. T.J. Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on September 1, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Jewell Jones, 85 years of age, passed away August 29, 2014. Jewell was born June 7, 1929 in Cypress, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She not only loved and raised her family, but later in life, Jewell ran an in-home day care for many years, and was a mother figure to the many children that she cared for. She was a lifelong resident of Natchitoches Parish. She had many interests, most of which revolved around her home. She loved to cook, sew, and quilt, but her greatest joy came from working out in her yard, gardening or maintaining her lawn. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Speir and husband John of Natchitoches, LA; two sons, O. Wayne Jones and wife Lynda of Shreveport, LA and Ronald Carl Jones and wife Donna of Natchitoches, LA; eight grandchildren, Ashley Graham and husband Paul, Johnathan Jones, Jared Jones and wife Haley, Bradley Jones and wife Christin, Wesley Jones, Brittany Jones, Chris Speir, and Gwen Hale and husband Jeramie; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Emily Vercher of Plaquemine, LA, Eleanor Dowden of Natchitoches, LA, and Dorothy Stephens of Shreveport, LA; and two brothers, Leland LaCaze of Flora, LA and R.L. LaCaze of Natchez, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen A Jones; her parents, Feliz LaCaze and Edna Desadier LaCaze; and four brothers, Henry LaCaze, William LaCaze, Carrol Ray LaCaze, and Harry LaCaze. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Johnathan Jones, Jared Jones, Wesley Jones, Chris Speir, Bradley Jones, and Jeramie Hale. Paul Graham will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jewell to Calvary Baptist Church, 312 Highway 3191, Natchitoches, LA 71457. The family would like to thank Doctors Chris Ingram and Archie Breazeale, the Courtyard of Natchitoches, LA Extended Care, and Hospice of Natchitoches for all of their loving care for Mrs. Jewell.
