On September 22, 2008, Rosemary Antilley Jacob, 58, went to be with the Lord. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Jay, her daughter Leslie and husband Richard Zientek, and her son Andrew and wife Madi Jacob. Rosemary was so proud to finally settle on the name “Grammy” when Andy and Madi had her first grandson, Benjamin in 2005 and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Richard and Leslie’s first child, Ethan, in late October.
Mrs. Rosemary was also survived by her mother Mary Antilley, and sisters Kathy and husband Richard LaCour, Alma and husband John Fernandez, and Martha and husband Herbert Dalme. She was also “Aunt Rosemary” to many nieces and nephews and enjoyed every opportunity to see them and brought gifts on every visit.
Rosemary Antilley was the first of four daughters to be born to William “Dub” and Mary Antilley in Leesville, LA. They resided in Natchitoches where she attended school and graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1968. She later graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. After her father’s sudden passing, Rosemary rose up as a strong leader in the family and helped her mother raise her younger sisters. Prior to moving to Houston, Rosemary worked at First United Methodist Church as the Office Manager. She and Jay moved to Houston for Jay’s work in 2000 where she finally got to build her dream home in Spring, TX. She loved reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She also treasured the friendships she made with the people in her neighborhood.
A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 6pm at First Methodist Church in Natchitoches, LA (411 Second St. Natchitoches, LA 71457). Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches will be in charge of arrangements.
