ROBERT FRANKLIN HARRIS
A celebration of life for Robert Franklin Harris will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2008, in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, La.
His grandson, Rev. Timothy Matkin, assisted by Mr. Harris’ son-in-law, Rev. Tommy Price, will officiate.
Bob, 79, passed away peacefully at home with his family in Natchitoches after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wink, Texas.
After graduating from Byrd High School in Shreveport he joined the army, serving two years in occupied Japan. He returned to Shreveport and, after attending Centenary College, he managed Hart Wholesale Lumber Company, retiring in 1999 after 41 years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sue, of Natchitoches; three daughters, Kim Ricks of McIntosh, Florida, Debbie Opel and husband Steve of Snoqualmie, Wa, and Tammy Price and husband Tommy of Everett, Wa.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Yancey of Shreveport, La.; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henson H. Harris and Annie Ruth Harris, and a brother, Charles, of Abilene, Texas.
