A service to honor the life of Mr. Dwight “Charlie” Brown will be at 11 am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Yancey Martin and Danny McIlveenee officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery in St. Maurice, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on September 23rd at Community Baptist Church, 164 Defreese Road, West Monroe, LA 71219 and again Wednesday the 24th from 9am until service time at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Mr. Brown, 83 years of age, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Monroe, LA. He was born September 12, 1931 to Ida and Arthur Brown in St. Maurice, LA. He was a graduate of Goldonna High School. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Army and honorably served as a paratrooper in the Korean War. He met his wife, Delores Beach in Leroy, Alabama while visiting an army buddy. They were married a short time after in Waynesboro, MS and returned to Louisiana to start their family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Delores Beach Brown; his parents, Ida and Arthur Brown; a daughter, Mary Diane Brown; and a great grandchild, Zoe Arie Matthews. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Daigle and her husband David, Denise Shannon and her husband Steve, Dixie Womble and her husband Barry, and Heather Brown; grandchildren, Joshua Daigle, Jeremiah Daigle, Stephanie McCosar, Taylor Siddon, Krista Tamez and Roman Womble; great grandchildren, Louisiana Grace Daigle, Radlee Daigle Bronson, Marissa McCosar, Baylee Tisdale and Landan Brown Guidroz; sisters, Nelda Ann Martin and Lizzie Mae Johnson; brothers, Arthur Brown, Jr. and Garland Brown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Jeremiah Daigle, Steve Shannon, Barry Womble, Terry Desadier, Wayne Gordon and Billy Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be David Daigle and Bronson McCosar.
