Faris Edgar Michael, Jr.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Faris Edgar Michael, Jr. will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow with Father Tommy Paul officiating. Faris Edgar Michael, Jr., 90, of Natchitoches, LA passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at his residence. A life-long resident of Natchitoches, he was a World War II Veteran having served in the U. S. Army Air Corp as a gunnery instructor and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He owned and operated Mike’s Liquor Store for many years before starting a new career in real estate, which he enjoyed until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Fredieu Michael; one son, Faris Edgar “Eddie” Michael, III; and parents, Faris Edgar Michael, Sr. and Mamie Michael. He is survived by two sons, Steve “Bubba” Michael and Malcolm James Michael and wife Meg, all of Natchitoches; two grandchildren, Leila Bordelon and husband Shannon of Lake Charles, LA and Alex Edgar Michael and girlfriend Katherine Martinez of New Orleans, LA; one great grandchild, Kaylee Bordelon of Lake Charles; one sister, Madeline “Tiny” Chachere of Eunice, LA and one brother, Charles Joseph Michael of Friendswood, TX. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers; Callie Williams, Mary Hubbard, Hattie Chambers and Gloria Bryant for their tireless dedication, love and care. And a special thanks also to the nurses and staff at Synergy Home Health and at Hospice of Natchitoches.
