Florine Van Sickle

Mrs. Florine Van Sickle died peacefully in her sleep Sunday night November 9, 2014. She joins her husband Wallace in heaven and will help him celebrate what would have been his 93rd birthday on November 10th. Born in Buckner, Arkansas, Florine achieved her dream of being an educator teaching music in the public school system where she taught for 33 years. Throughout her career she touched the lives of thousands of young men and women. In the words of the great Will Rogers, Florine "never met a person that she didn’t like" and the same could be said of those who met her. Florine is survived by her four children: Kay Wiley of Kansas, OK; Clarke Van Sickle of Baton Rouge, LA; Ginny V. Johnson and Leslie Methvin both of Natchitoches, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents Crowley & Virginia Lindsey and siblings Elbridge Lindsey and Gerry Sexton; her sister-in-law Maxine Lindsey is a resident of Magnolia, AR. She had 8 nephews & nieces. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren who will all dearly miss her. A memorial service to honor the life of Florine will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Chris Wiley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm on the 13th in the funeral home chapel.
