Frances Hicks, 67 years of age, passed away November 17, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was born February 13, 1947 in Haughton, LA. Frances was so much to so many. She was the most loving and wonderful wife that a man could ask for. She was the wisest and most devoted mother that a child could have. She loved and doted on her grandchildren: she was the best "Nana" they could have ever asked for. No amount of words can sum up the tremendous example she left for those who knew her. She was known throughout the Louisiana Law System for her knowledge and experience, which she put to use on a daily basis for 25 years at The Harrington Law Firm. She was an encourager to all those around her, and would always try to see the positive side of life. She was the rock of her family, but she knew that her strength was drawn from her most gracious Heavenly Father. She was a devoted Christian and a 24 year member of the Westside Baptist Church in Natchitoches. She was a teacher by nature, leading many to Christ and strengthening their relationships through teaching Bible studies. Frances was very hospitable, hosting many functions at her home with Mr. Norman, and helping everyone that she could who had a need. Her family will miss their Matriarch, but her memories will continue to live on through their lives. Psalm 139:23-24: Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman O. Hicks, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA; her children, Arthur Ray McCrory, Jr. and partner Greg Williams of Tampa, FL, Chantay Elaine Miles and husband Chris of Rhome, TX, Bridget Hicks and partner Michael Parrie of Zwolle, LA, Lea Anne Wood and husband Dana of Lake Charles, LA, Scotty Lane Hicks and wife Melanie of Natchitoches, LA, and Christopher Allen Hicks and wife Niery Ann of Shreveport, LA; her grandchildren, Kevin "Devin" Gourdon, Ragan Haynie and husband Clay, Monty Williams and wife Katie, Caleb Hicks, Sean Williams and wife Katie, Ashton Wood, Keelea Wood, Caiden Hicks, David Spillman, Samantha Spillman, Ethan Miles, and Dylan Miles; her great grandchildren, Kylie McCollister and Dakota Williams; one sister, Vickie Arceneaux and husband Ritchey of Morgan City, LA; two brothers, Thomas Callaway and wife Linda of Paradise, TX and Earnest Callaway of Shreveport, LA; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Elisha Callaway and Buell and Norma Elaine Ursery. Those honored to be pallbearers will be Monty Williams, Sean Williams, Kevin "Devin" Gourdon, David Spillman, Caleb Hicks, Caiden Hicks, Clay Haynie, Matt Williams, Andy Harkleroad, Jeremy Callaway, Todd Garzarelli, Madison Pierce, and Jeff Rachal.
