Joseph Thomas Martin, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 24, 2014 for Joseph Thomas Martin, Jr. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Spanish Lake Community, LA with Fr. Kurian Zachariah officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Spanish Lake Community, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a recitation of the rosary held at 7:00 pm on November 23, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Joseph Martin, Jr., 85 years of age, passed away November 21, 2014. He was born September 2, 1929 in Monroe, LA. He was a great man, loving husband, and wonderful father and grandfather. Joseph was a hard worker, retiring after 30 years of service as a telephone contractor with AT&T, working mostly at Fort Polk Army Base. He served his country for four years in the United States Navy. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Aline Procell Martin of Gorum, LA; his children, Brenda Rushing and her husband Daniel, James Martin and his wife Louise, David Martin and his wife Dawn, Joseph Martin, III, Tammie Smith, Cathy Lewis, Chris Brevelle and wife Tammy, Jack Brevelle, and Wendy Andes and husband Brad; 30 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Martin Sr. and Annabelle Ross Martin; and two children, Brandy Martin and Jennifer Gregory. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brad Andes, Bailey Andes, Chris Brevelle, Bob Lodrige, Sam Smith, and Cody Brevelle.
