Funeral services for Anthony Jerome Hamby will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on November 23, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Anthony Hamby, 46 years of age, passed away November 21, 2014. He was born July 10, 1968 in Natchitoches, LA. He was a loving and kind hearted man, and was always willing to help when he could. He loved his family, and was an unselfish caregiver to them. He thoroughly enjoyed partaking in Civil War and World War II reenactments, mostly for his love of history. He was an avid fan of L.S.U., and, as they say, bled purple and gold. He accepted Christ at the young age of 7, and, leaving his family behind, is now in the peaceful arms of Jesus. He is survived by his father, Horace Wyatt Hamby of Tuscaloosa, AL; his mother, Sydney Louise Rachal Hamby of Cumming, GA; his sister, Amy Crain and her husband Tim of Cumming, GA; his paternal grandmother, Willa Dean Sewell of Forkland, AL; his aunt, Diane Allen and husband Bill of Benton, LA; his niece and nephews, Anna Crain, Hunter Crain, and Alex Crain; and numerous other cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.D. Sewell, David Hamby, Sidney Dennis Rachal, and Lurline Longlois Rachal; and one aunt, Bonnie Rachal Walston
