Graveside services for Steven Wilder Johnson Basco will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Gorum Cemetery in Gorum, LA with Rev. Matthew Pagels officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm on December 4, 2014 until service time Friday at St. Margaret Catholic Hall in Gorum, LA.
Steven, 48 years of age, passed away December 2, 2014. He was born June 16, 1966 to in Oceanside, CA. He was full of life, had a free spirit and loved to travel wherever the road lead him. Once you met him, you would remember him as a kind person that was full of love and laughter. He was very giving, dedicating much of his time to volunteer service with the Red Cross. He loved his family, and loved to call them and talk about many things, but he especially loved to talk about football. He enjoyed keeping up with teams stats, whether it was college or professional, and his favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. He had an amazing personality, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Charles M. Basco, and Robert and Joyce Johnson; his sisters, Ami'ee Basco Walsworth and husband Barry of Shreveport, LA and Me'chelle Allen and husband Glen of Shreveport, LA; his brothers, Brian Basco of Shreveport, LA, Marlin Basco of Carmel, CA, Eric Basco and wife Tamara of Tyler, TX, Charles Basco II of Shreveport, LA, William Eston Basco and wife Robyn of Alexandria, LA, and Nathaniel Carson Basco and wife Tiffany of Natchitoches, LA; his lifelong friend, Rick Raymond of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Merideth Sinko Nielson.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be his brothers, Brian Basco, Marlin Basco, Eric Basco, Charles Basco, II, William Eston Basco, and Nathaniel Basco.
Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Jones, Richard Shilling, Carmelo Casciari, Joseph T Martin, III, and Rick Raymond.
In memory of Steven, charitable donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
