Funeral services for Lodis Carnline will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Doug De Graffenreid officiating. Interment will follow at Lambertown Cemetery in Robeline, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on December 17, 2014 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Lodis, 89 years of age, passed away December 15, 2014. She was born December 22, 1924 in Many, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for her family. She worked in the nursery for many years at Christus Schumpert Hospital caring for new born children. Later she worked and retired from AT&T Communications, after around twenty-five years of service. She was a soft spoken and gentle lady who was very neighborly and kind. She loved to spend time at her camp on Toledo Bend fishing and taking time outdoors to work in the yard or garden. She loved to cook, a trait that will be greatly missed. She'll be dearly missed by all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rayford Carnline of Shreveport; her daughter, Judy Horn of Doyline; grandchildren, Debra Stricklin of Doyline and Todd Carnline of Shreveport; she was blessed with six great grandchildren, Chris, Cody, Justice, Nathaniel, Elizabeth and William; as well as 2 great-great grandchildren, Mason and Danny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Carnline; her parents, William Colston and Elizabeth Cryer; one sister, Genenva Freeman; and one brother, Willie Colston.
