Vera Graves Troutman, age 79, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Dubois Hospital in Alexandria, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2008. The funeral service will be at Beulah United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2008, with Rev. Ronnie Owens officiating. Interment will be at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA.
Mrs. Vera was a very sweet and compassionate lady. She was very proud to be a homemaker and mother. She was able to smile in any situation, no matter how she may have felt at the time. She was an incredible source of guidance for the young people in her life. She reached out to many people and helped all that she could. She loved to paint as well. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles Troutman, and her parents, John Graves and Mary Olive Graves.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Luenser and husband Don of Natchitoches, LA and Melissa Troutman of Natchitoches, LA; one grandson, Marcus Luenser of Natchitoches, LA; one sister, Marie Webb of Noble, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Graves, Tim Graves, Malcolm Graves, Reldon Owens, Keenan Kelly, and Don Luenser. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Owens and Marcus Luenser.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Vera’s niece, Patricia Owens, for all of her guidance and support in this time of need.
