Funeral service for Ronald M. Scroggins will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Dr. Ira Campbell, Dr. Roy Cook, and Rev. James Moore officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery at Flora, La. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Scroggins, 68, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, November 10, 2008, in his residence at Powhatan, La. He was a native of Flora, La. He was retired from The Department of Agriculture and Forestry for the State of Louisiana and a cattleman and rancher. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Brent Scroggins; great grandson, Trey Chandler; parents John William Scroggins and Ouida Longlois Scroggins; father-in-law, Lucien Cox and mother-in-law, Annie Riddle Cox. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Robbie Cox Scroggins of Natchitoches, La.; one daughter, Kim Duke of West Monroe, La.; two granddaughters, Lacy Chandler of Natchitoches, La. and Kelsey Ward of New Orleans, La.; one great granddaughter, Alyssa Chandler of Natchitoches, La.; one sister, Sue Carter and husband Fred of Flora, La.; one brother, C. J. Scroggins and wife Debbie of Simsboro, La.; sister-in-law, Darlene Cox. Pallbearers will be John Bernard, Greg Carter, Tim Scroggins, Jason LeGrande, Pat Todd, Jr., Royce Salley, Scotty Hill, and Bobby Hrapmann. Honorary pallbearers will be all law enforcement personnel and many life long friends.
