Clyde Greenwood Thompson, 65, of Provencal, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2014 after his struggle with cancer.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. Born in Jonesboro, Louisiana on July 2, 1949 to William H. “Bill” Thompson, Sr. and Minnie Ola Free Thompson. He grew up in Marthaville, Louisiana, married the love of his life, Kathy in 1967 and settled in Provencal, Louisiana to raise his family. He worked for Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries Dept. for over 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hale “Bill” Thompson, Sr, brothers, Jimmy Ray Thompson, John Albert Thompson, Robert C. “Bobby” Thompson, Sr; Aunt, Opal M. Williams Hines; Uncles, William Free and David Free; Father-in-Law, Winfred L. Warren, Sr., Mother-in-Law, Juanita N. Warren; Brother-in-Law, Winfred L. Warren, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Kathy L. Warren Thompson; his children, Jimmy L. Thompson and his wife, Theresa; Johnny L. Thompson; Clyde G. Thompson, II; LaJuana Thompson Jordan and her husband Trey; His grandchildren, Candace D. Thompson, Brittany M. Woodel, Victoria K. Thompson, Stephanie E. Woodel, Jimmy “Dean” Jordan, III, Todd A. Thompson, Sarah N. Jordan, Amie L. Thompson, Abbie M. Thompson. His mother, Minnie Ola Free Thompson; brothers, William H. “Billy” Thompson, Jr. and his wife Mary, Delbert H. Thompson, Sr.; Many Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday January 2, 2015. A service to honor the life of Clyde Greenwood Thompson will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 10 am at Jennings Chapel Methodist Church just outside of Marthaville, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny C. Warren, Elbert Rachal, Randy Erwin, Lowrey Moak, L.D. LaBorde and Ryan Lemoine.
