Stephen Brian Simmons

Stephen Brian Simmons, 48, passed away Tuesday December 23, 2014 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Stephen was born September 28, 1966 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the son of Bon Kirk and Audrey Simmons. Stephen attended Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches, Louisiana where he made many great memories. After high school, Stephen joined the United States Army. Years of hard work and determination led him to become a First Sergeant. He became a recruiter in East Texas and helped many individuals change their lives for the better, as he did for himself. Stephen was given the opportunity to promote to Sergeant Major, but declined for the love of his family. At the age of 40, Stephen made the decision to retire to spend quality time with his loved ones. He was loved by all who knew him and will always be remembered for this genuine heart, spontaneity, dedication, and integrity. Survivors are as follows: daughters, Lacie and Shelby; son, Zach; sister, Lee; brothers, Keith, Darrell, Butch; nephews, Chad, Skip, Shannon and Brenner; nieces, Meagan, Brook, Mandi, Katherine, Darian and Malia; as well as many friends, and soldiers. In his honor, memorial services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015, 2pm, at Blanchard St Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana. *John 15:3- "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
