Funeral services for Geneva McCain will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. James Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on January 31, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Geneva McCain, 77 years of age, was born September 10, 1937 in Chatham, LA, and passed away January 26, 2015 at her home in Natchitoches. She was a loving wife of 59 years, and an attentive and caring mother and grandmother. Before she became too ill, she loved trout fishing in Arkansas and traveling in the family R.V. She was the next to oldest of 11 children and loved spending time with her siblings. She truly missed the ones that left this world too soon. She didn’t want to stay here in this world without her beloved husband, “J.B.”, and went to see him as soon as she could. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by one son, Sam McCain and his wife Brenda of Natchitoches, LA; two daughters, Marilyn McCain Wynn and her husband Ben of Natchitoches, LA and Cindy McCain of Natchitoches, LA; six grandchildren, Amy Davis and her husband Aaron, Heather Gandy and her husband Keith, Shawn LaCaze and his wife Jamie, Jamie Harper, Logan McCain and Chelsea McClure, and Kaitlyn McCain; six great grandchildren, Austin Barbo, Trevor Barbo, Cole Young, Collin LaCaze, Luke LaCaze, and Bella McClure; four sisters, Delma Cunnigham and her husband Leeman of Plano, TX, Barbara Goad of Harrah, OK, Louann Gray and her husband Robert of Celeste, TX, and Lanell Lovelady and her husband Perry of Greenville, TX; two brothers, Johnny Simons and his wife Francis of Eros, LA and Victor Simons and his wife Sue of Winnfield, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. McCain; her son, Bryant McCain; her parents, Olis Victor Simons and Effie Adeline Smith Simons; and her brothers, Dalton Simons, Glenn Simons, Carl Simons, and Lavon Simons. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Austin Barbo, Trevor Barbo, Cole Young, Tim Simons, Mark Green, and Zach Whitehead.
