A service to honor the life of Mr. Jimmy Hicks, Sr. will be at 1 pm on Monday, February 2, 2015 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Stephen Ciaccio officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2015.
Jimmy Ray Hicks, Sr., 72 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 with his family by his side.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Billie Sue (Brossette) Hicks, five children; Boogie & (Bruce) Bedgood, of Goldonna; Jimmy & (Donna) Hicks, Jr, of Detroit, MI; Sissy Hicks and Cecil Jordan of Converse ; Kenneth Hicks, of Nederland, TX; Lawanda Hicks and Charles Paddie, of Natchitoches; brother, Wayne & (Grace) Hicks, Natchitoches; Uncle, Ruben Lofton, Jonesboro and a special Aunt Mary Lott, Bellwood; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was born to the late Andrew and Estelle Hicks, October 28, 1942. He was preceded in death by his sister Edith Nell Clemons and brother Buryl Hicks.
Jimmy was retired from Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union Local 247, Alexandria, Louisiana, and was a member of Faith Family Church.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ricky Beavers, Tim Belgard, Jessie Cooley, Kenneth Gorum, Ronnie Gypin and Jack Nichols.
