Funeral service for Annie Mae Basco Carnahan will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Harold Imamshah officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Chopin, La. under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 5 PM until 9 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM and visitation on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 8 AM until 12 Noon in the funeral home.
Mrs. Carnahan, 92, of Chopin, La., died Friday, November 28, 2008, at Natchitoches Regional Long Term Care Unit in Natchitoches, La. She was a native and lifelong resident of Chopin, La. She was a psychiatric aide for Central State Hospital and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldren Carnahan, Sr.; daughter, Wilhelmina Brou; parents, Alexander Basco and Mary Ellen Vallery Basco; four sisters; five brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Fonda Cogdill and husband Vernon of Pollock, La. and Wanda "Sue" Bradley and husband Allen Cooper of Gonzales, La.; one son, Eldren Carnahan, Jr. of Natchitoches, La.; fifteen grandchildren, Rona Barnes and husband Mike; Dana Lodridge; Anita Lott, Cindy Maxwell, Marty Cogdill and wife Mitzie, Brenda Walker Colinda Ewing and husband Eldon, Pete Bradley, Jr., William 'Bill' Bradley and wife Sonja, Randy Bradley and wife Amy, Michael 'Mike' Bradley and wife Chrissy, Tyra Cooper, Ted Brou, Sam Brou, and Doris Valencia; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Angie Lee Vercher and husband Eddie Boyce, La.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bradley, Bill Bradley, Randy Bradley, Mike Barnes, Jake Barnes, Rafael Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be James E. Delacerda and Pete Bradley, Jr.
