Funeral services for Billy Dean Huddleston were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Smith officiating. Interment followed at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
Billy Huddleston, Sr., 79 years of age, was born October 10, 1935 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away February 6, 2015 in West Monroe, LA He owned and operated The Flower Nook in Natchitoches and Coushatta for many years. After that, he worked in various fields in the Oil & Gas Industry throughout Texas and Louisiana. Later, he owned and operated The Cattleguard, a restaurant and truck stop in Chapel Hill, TX and The 290 Truck stop and restaurant in Hempstead, TX
He is survived by his four children, Billy Dean Huddleston, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Dennie Joe Huddleston and his wife Renee of Eros, LA. Darlene Huddleston McElwee and her husband Jerry of Natchitoches, LA, and Mona Huddleston Chanler of Sibley, LA; five grandchildren, Alanna Nelson, Jessica Costanza, Sumar Hooter, Frank Chanler, II and Joshua Huddleston; ten great grandchildren, Hayden Hennigan, Christian Carter, Isabella Smith, Abigail Nelson, Max Nelson, Kamdan Hooter, Kendall Hooter, Keetan Hooter, Tucker Huddleston and Triston Huddleston; the mother of his children, Margie “Mamie” Jo Huddleston of Natchitoches; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennie Huddleston and Ruth E. Gandy Huddleston; one grandson, Dennie Joe Huddleston, Jr,; and one sister, Bobbie Jean Deville.
