A service to honor the life of Mrs. Willa Sibley Collins will be at 2 pm Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Matt Endris officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Collins, 95 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home in Natchitoches. She was born January 14, 1920 to William Oscar Sibley and Mattie (Wiggins) Sibley in Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George K. Collins; her parents; her brother, Titus Sibley; her sisters, Edrie Sibley and Faye Sibley Frye; a son, Jolley Conrad Collins; son in law, Charlie Nash; daughters in law, Peggy Collins and Diana Collins; as well as her brother in law and neighbor, Kenneth Brumfield. She was known as "Mother" to all who knew her. She was a woman of God, a loving wife, an admirable mother, a sweet sister, the most amazing grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by her sons, George K. Collins, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Goldonna, Donald E. Collins and his wife Kim of Natchitoches, Bryant E. Collins and his wife Deneise of Natchitoches; her daughters, Lana Collins McWherter and her husband Jerry of Natchitoches and Bettye Collins Nash of Goldonna; sister, Willy Brumfield of The Woodlands, TX. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Chase Brown, Marcus Collins, Mark Collins, Timothy Collins, Dustin McKnight, and Jolley Nash. Honorary pallbearers will be Conner Collins, Hunter Dove, Josh Nash, Gabriel McKnight, Gunner Nash, Mike Oldemeyer, David Parks, Darryl Robertson and Preston Wyatt. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Natchitoches for the care of Mrs. Willa during such a difficult time. Donations may be made to Hospice of Natchitoches, 340 2nd Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457 in Mrs. Willa’s name.
