Funeral service for Rev. Robert Paul 'Bob' Wallace, Sr. will be held 1 PM Thursday, December 4, 2008 in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery near Converse, La. under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 5 PM until 9 PM in the funeral home and on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 12 Noon until service time in the church.
Brother Wallace, 77, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, December 1, 2008, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La. He was a native of Converse, La. He was a retired Baptist Minister having pastored churches in Leesville, La., Hineston, La., Oakdale, La. two times, Kilbourne, La. Eunice, La., Tioga, La., New Orleans, La., Blanchard, La., and Pine Prairie, La. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was formerly active in the The Southern Baptist Convention and The Louisiana Baptist Convention in various capacities.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Paul Wallace, Jr.; one daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Wallace; one sister, Viola Jones; five brothers, Marvin Wallace, Martin Wallace, M. D. Wallace, Charles Wallace, and Frank Wallace; parents, Martin Seba Wallace and Lucille Vesta Hilton Wallace.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Rounsavall Wallace of Natchitoches, La.; two daughters, Paula Ammons and husband Jimmy of Natchitoches, La. and Elizabeth Wallace and husband Bruce Singleton of Dallas, Tx.; one son, Frank Wallace of Natchitoches, La.; five grandchildren, Jaime Rhymes and husband David of La Place, La., Jessica Hurd and husband Mike of Noble, La., Jamie Grimes and husband Scott of Robeline, La., Caroline Singleton and Emily Singleton both of Dallas, Tx.; one sister, Annie Belle Patrick of Hemphill, Tx.; three brothers, Perry Wallace and wife Edwina of Rowlett, Tx., Norris 'Joe' Wallace and wife Sue of Nashville, Tn., and Ray Wallace and wife Bobbye of Frierson, La.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ammons, Bruce Singleton, David Rhymes, Mike Hurd, Donald Hayward, and Danny Koch.
